Before Tailsonic the Fox's full release build releases in 2025, and you guys start wanting to make your own mods, you need to understand the copyright for the game.
For those who don't know what copyright is, let me give an example. Let's say you want to make a video game. Once you put it all together, and upload it publicly to the internet, other people will be able to download it, which is fine. However, there may be a time when someone makes their own media, and uses stuff from your game, without asking your permission to do so. Once your video game is under copyright protection, people will still be able to use stuff from your game in their media, only if they ask for your permission.
There was going to be an episode of Tailsonic the Fox Extras: Tailsonic and CMO about this topic, but it got changed because of the stuff that occurred with Vs. Tailsonic, which made it outdated.
Anyway, basically what this means is that my/our game is/will be under copyright protection, so if anyone wants to use my/our assets, they will have to ask me/us for permission.
For characters of our game, and major ones, like Tailsonic and CMO, they are also under copyright protection, except for the fact that they are recolored Sonic assets. They are under copyright protection because they are original characters. If anyone would like to use our characters in any of their media, please ask our permission to use them.
This is also the same for music, and especially the tracks in Friday Night Funkin': Vs. Tailsonic. For those tracks, on some I made downloadable on my Soundcloud, I added a disclaimer to the bottom of the description about using the media in other places, such as reposts and covers.
Going back to the characters, there are a few Tailsonic characters that aren't mine, but were other members' ideas. So, for those characters, please ask them for permission. The only problem is that I don't have any links to where you can message them about it.
One more thing to talk about is JW mode, (well, it might no longer be a mode) an upcoming mode for Tailsonic the Fox, based on Jehovah's Witnesses. For those who don't know, (and probably a lot of you don't know this,) I'm currently an unbaptized Jehovah's Witness. This is the reason why I made the guideline for our project specifically mentioning no inappropiate content. This is also why there's an upcoming track based on them for Vs. Tailsonic, called Meeting. JW Mode might no longer be a mode for Tailsonic the Fox, but it might be an addon to add to the story of the game. It will still be in the options menu, and it will be off by default.
The reason I brought JW Mode up was because, of course, it's based on Jehovah's Witnesses, and the tracks for it are direct references to their music, also, in the Project Tailsonic Guideline Document (or whatever it's called), (from the Google Classroom page) it mentions that no one else besides Jehovah's Witnesses are allowed to reference their music. I have decided to change this, and I'm going to say that everyone can reference them as long as they give them credit.
Anyway, yeah! That's... about it! Hope you found this informational! (Wait... how many times have I said that same line? Eh, whatever.)
